Narborough
& Littlethorpe Leisure Gardeners' Association (NLLGA)
NLLGA was founded in 1976 with
the aim of encouraging and developing the leisure activities of Gardening in the villages
of Narborough and Littlethorpe (see map).
From July, it has been illegal for retailers
to sell over 80 garden pesticides and from March 31st, it will be illegal for gardeners to
even have them in theirs sheds. Find out more, here.
The Chairman Trevor Matthews has succeeded
in obtaining grants to fix gills to the cabin, for a storage workshop, a brush cutter,
mower and rotivator. Three cheers for Trevor's three in a row!
Reubens, the stalwart of the Plots, has hung
up his onions and retired. With wringing tails with Foxes eating Cockerels and
ringing tales on his computer, read Alison's interview in the Newsletter.
Our
Mission
The NLLGA exists to ensure that the work of
the Allotment Movement in the Leicestershire villages of Narborough & Littlethorpe is
undertaken to the highest possible standard, using the volunteer skills and the resources
available at the time.
Working in partnership with the Narborough Parish Council as our landlords, we aim to
provide a focus for pride in our allotment site; to listen to our members; identify and
respond to our joint agreed needs and help develop a strong, secure and self reliant
Allotment Community, free from unlawful discrimination.
Who are
we?
We are a rag, tag
and bobtail of individuals with various interests, backgrounds, skills and a dedicated
interest in gardening. If you want to join a band of enthusiastic people then
contact us. We can always fix you up with an allotment to reflect your ambitions and
time.
